Opole University Career Centre
The Career Centre is a platform for students, graduates and employers.
It is connected to the biurokarier.edu.pl portal, which contains job and internship offers and enables users to create their own profiles and CVs. The system matches offers with the skills and qualifications of candidates, notifying them about the listings which best match their requirements and skill levels. The Career Centre is dedicated for students and graduates of Opole University, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, Siedlce University of Natural Sciences and Humanities, University of Silesia in Katowice, University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn and Warsaw University.
It provides access to career counsellors who can help students write professional applications and prepare them for a job interview. The counsellors can also help students specify their professional goals and find the right career path.
Opole University also organises a job fair, which divided into two parts:
• the traditional fair part takes place in the morning, consisting of company presentations, training courses, workshops and consultations for students;
• the afternoon is dedicated for panel discussions, networking sessions and presentations of research results, offering an opportunity to share experiences and develop new solutions implemented at Opole University and in the companies involved.
Praktyki+ is a programme run by the UCC for those Opole University students who would like to acquire more experience and develop their career. The programme involves a data base of job offers generated in partnership with the leading local businesses and branch offices of the largest global corporations.
Students can choose one of two ways of starting an internship:
• visit the Career Centre and tell a counsellor about themselves – their interests, strengths and potential room for improvement. Based on this, the counsellor can offer matching internships,
• find a suitable internship, fill out the application documents and submit them at the office.
The University Career Centre also helps businesses with finding potential employees and interns.
