The round dome of Stegu Arena Opole – Previously known as Okrąglak (Roundie) – is one of the most recognisable buildings in the city and a marvel of modernist architecture. The building has been thoroughly modernised over the recent years – the structure itself and its unique dome have remained unchanged, but the interior has changed drastically. The grandstands, previously arranged in a circle, now form a rectangle and are much closer to the pitch and the activities that happen there.
The Arena is 82 metres in diameter, its total area exceeds 7500 square metres and its height is 20 metres. It is equipped with air conditioning and can house up to 3500 guests. The building is packed full with electronic systems used during events, including a cube display, score boards, LED field and grandstand lighting and a state-of-the-art sound system. There is also a sauna, athletic recovery facilities, large locker rooms, restaurants, gyms, as well as a car park for 250 vehicles.
Stegu Arena is perfect for sporting events such as basketball, volleyball, handball, floor hockey and futsal games. The venue can also host concerts.
