Opole then and now
To commemorate the 800th anniversary of Opole’s foundation, a new tourist trail was created encompassing the most well-known historic spots in the city. The “Opole then and now” trail consists of five display cases containing old photographs of buildings and places with descriptions in Polish, English and German. The cases are situated in a way which enables visitors to compare the view today with what the place was like in the past. Every case also has a QR code which makes it possible to read the materials in electronic form.
The display cases can be found in the following 5 locations: Market Square, Barlicki Pond, near the Franciscan Church – view of the Piast Tower, Freedom Square, Krakowska Street in the direction of the Market Square.
The project was funded with NGO subsidies as part of the 800th anniversary celebration by the “Profil” Association for Promoting Opole Silesia.
