Festival Rally

The screech of tires and roar of engines marks the beginning of every Opole Festival Rally. With 48 editions under its belt, it is one of the oldest motorsport events in the country, in addition to being one of the most colourful festival-related side events in the Polish Song Capital.
Organised every year since 1970 by the Opole Automobile Club, the Rally returned in 2015 after a long hiatus, taking place alongside the National Polish Song Festival. The starting line was set up in the very heart of the Opole Market Square, right in front of the City Hall entrance on the Polish Song Walk of Fame, with crowds of spectators eager to see the start. Interest in the event has only increased since then, and the Rally has become a fixed feature of the festival atmosphere.
It is a two-day event for amateur race drivers which draws more and more teams every year. Apart from amateurs, competitors include professional drivers and celebrities such as singers Andrzej Dąbrowski and Michał Wiśniewski. The cars start in the city centre and its stages are scattered around Opole and the neighbouring areas.
