Polish Swimming GP
Once a year in April, the Wodna Nuta swimming pool transforms into an arena where the best swimmers in Poland compete for supremacy. The Opole Grand Prix is not only an opportunity to test your skills and practice, but also to qualify for prestigious international sporting events.
Every edition of the event draws several hundreds of athletes from dozens of Polish clubs. Some of the greatest Polish swimmers have competed in Opole, including Aleksandra Urbańczyk, Alicja Tchórz, Radosław Kawęcki, Konrad Czerniak and Paweł Korzeniowski. In 2014, Tomasz Polewka of AZS AWK Katowice beat the national record in 50 m backstroke by completing the race in 25.12 seconds.
The event is organised by the Polish Swimming Federation, Opole City Hall, Opole Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre and the Opole District Swimmer Association.
